Endorsed Candidates – November 2023 General Election

Appellate Court Judges:

  • Supreme Court: We strongly urge a vote for Dan McCaffery to reinforce our Democratic majority on the Court. He is “Highly Recommended” by the PA Bar Association (“PBA”). 
  • Commonwealth Court: We strongly endorse Matt Wolf to increase the Democratic presence on the Court. He is PBA “Recommended”.
  • Superior Court: We strongly support both Timika Lane and Jill Beck whose election will ensure a Democratic majority on the Court. Both are PBA “Highly Recommended”.

Mayor:The 9th Ward endorses Cherelle Parker (cherelleparker.com). 

Council-at-Large (Majority Seats:* = incumbents) The Democrats can win only five of the seven at-large City Council seats: The 9th Ward Democratic Committee endorses all five of the Democratic candidates, as follows:

Council-at-Large – Two Minority Seats

For more than 50 years, the two “minority” party seats on City Council have gone to the Republicans. And they have used those seats to block progress for working families whenever they could. Four years ago, Kendra Brooks from the Working Families Party won one of the two minority seats. This year she is running for reelection, joined by fellow Working Families Party candidate Nicolas O’Rourke. We note that both Governor Josh Shapiro and Senator John Fetterman have endorsed their candidacies, as they believe both would be better than the Republicans who are running for the two minority At-Large seats.
